St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Elementary school opened its doors in west St. Catharines in 2005, to accommodate a need for a new Catholic elementary school in the community.
Originally named for Mother Teresa, St. Teresa of Calcutta was renamed in 201X, following Mother Teresa’s sainthood. St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Elementary School is Niagara Catholic’s only Catholic school named for someone who lived, and was made a saint, in modern times.
The Home of the Titans (future Saint Francis Phoenix), students and staff at St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Elementary School live by her examples of courage, dignity, and love. Led by professional Catholic educators, St. Teresa of Calcutta is a safe, inclusive space, where all are welcome and loved as children of God.
More than 200 students in kindergarten through Grade 8 attend St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Elementary School today.
St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Elementary School is part of the Saint Francis Catholic Secondary School family of schools and the Star of the Sea parish community.
